On October 9, 2010 residents of Laayoune, Morocco began setting up a protest site in the desert east of the city. The protests were for additional housing and job opportunities to accommodate the growing population. Pro-Polisario provocateurs soon infiltrated the demonstration site to "hijack" the protest. The protest had nothing to do with Polisario demands for independence. The images are extremely graphic and gruesome.

US Includes Western Sahara in Moroccan Assistance
President Obama signed a bill authorizing US assistance to Morocco to be used in any region administered by Morocco. The bill, approved by both houses of Congress, supported the autonomy plan put forth by Morocco. This is the first time that US assistance to Morocco may be used in Western Sahara. Read More
