On October 9, 2010 residents of Laayoune, Morocco began setting up a protest site in the desert east of the city. The protests were for additional housing and job opportunities to accommodate the growing population. Pro-Polisario provocateurs soon infiltrated the demonstration site to "hijack" the protest. The protest had nothing to do with Polisario demands for independence. The images are extremely graphic and gruesome.

Sentences Handed Out for Soccer Riots
Eleven people were convicted for their role in riots that killed seven people during a soccer game. The riot occurred in the Western Saharan city of Dakhla, after rival groups, which reportedly also included Sahrawi activists, and left two policeman among the dead. The sentences have ranged from eight months to a year. Read More
